Electronic tablet stand
The transition to digital technology in aviation, particularly with the adoption of tablets like the iPad and Microsoft Surface in the flight deck, marked a significant shift in how pilots accessed vital information. By 2010, this digital revolution was in full swing, with airlines digitizing operating and technical manuals for easier access. Jeppesen, a renowned American company, further supported this shift by developing an application that provided pilots with essential aeronautical navigation charts. The convenience of digital access replaced bulky paper manuals, streamlining flight operations. However, integrating this technology presented practical challenges, such as securely positioning the tablet for easy data viewing during flight. To address this, I designed a simple, lightweight tablet holder in 2011, crafted to be both unobtrusive and versatile. This holder was useful not only for pilots in aircraft, but also in everyday situations, from cooking to music practice. With its portable design, the holder fit easily into a shoulder bag and was produced in China until 2016. This innovation reflects the adaptive spirit of aviation; ensuring technological advancements enhance efficiency without compromising functionality or safety.
